THE SPACE
A stay at Daya Meher is like stepping into a world where history and nature converge. The cottage is a beautiful example of traditional Himachali architecture, featuring thick stone walls to keep it cool in the summer and warm in the winter and a slate roof that blends seamlessly with the natural surroundings.
The living room, with its high ceiling and oversized windows, offers panoramic views of the garden and the valley beyond, blurring the lines between indoors and outdoors. Plush carpets, creative wall hangings, and comfortable sofas make this room a cozy haven for relaxation and contemplation.
The dining area, adjacent to the living room, offers a quaint space for enjoying meals, while the verandah and sunroom provide perfect spots for soaking in the stunning vistas.
The sunroom, with its floor-to-ceiling French windows, offers the same breathtaking views as the verandah but with the added comfort of an indoor space, making it ideal for summer evenings and winter mornings.
Outside, the garden invites you to enjoy alfresco dining under a Chinar or pear tree, with a menu that includes delicious vegetarian and egg dishes, reflecting the cottage's respect for the small ancient temple on the property and the owners' love for animals.

Meals are prepared by our in-house chef and are made of delectable homemade vegetarian cuisine. Being animal lovers we do not serve meat but eggs are on the menu. Choose from our multi-cuisine menu and be served el fresco under a Chinar or a pear tree

A barbecue soirée can be organised at an additional cost and on prior intimation.

A menu is shared upon booking confirmation. We request all our guests inform the staff about their meal preferences well in advance.

Nearest Airport (Gaggal) - 20 kms / 40 mins
Nearest Railway Station (Pathankot) - 90 kms / 03 hrs
Dharamshala - 07 kms / 20 mins
McLeod Ganj - 03 kms / 7 mins

We will share the exact directions upon confirmation. There is space to park one small car outside the house. A public parking space is 200m away from the property. In other cases, we can also arrange for a parking space at a nearby hotel at an additional cost.

We follow a strict no-smoking policy inside the house. You may ask the caretaker for an ashtray and smoke outside the house if you need to.

Sustainable Travel: We do not provide mineral water bottles or aerated drinks and encourage our guests to avoid or take back their plastic garbage. Clean drinking water in bottles is provided.

This place is offered exclusively to only one group at a time, the price varies depending on the number of guests. Please select the exact number of guests while booking.

Rooms are offered on double occupancy up until 04 guests and other rooms are locked. We will offer an extra bed/mattress if you are more than 04 guests and can accommodate a maximum of 06 guests only.

Electricity: Electricity is usually not a problem, however, being at an offbeat location, if there is an unprecedented power outage, we have inverters as power backup to keep the lights and some power points running. This might also offer you an opportunity to switch off and gaze at the starry night sky. We promise you will not regret it.

Please note that like any other home in the mountains, we do not have an air conditioner at the property. Daya Meher has been designed in such a way that there is proper wind circulation if the windows are opened in the afternoon. Besides, we also have ceiling fans if you feel the need for the same.

There are additional charges for Bonfire/ Fireplace to be paid at the property.

We can organise separate accommodation for drivers or male house-helps. Please inform us at the time of booking. Charges are additional.

Outside guests are not allowed during the stay. The property is only accessible to guests who have booked with us.
